Four years ago, DULCIS opened with a simple dream: to bring authentic Italian gelato and pasticcini to our community. Little by little, we became a point of reference as an Italian pasticceria a place where people come for celebrations, daily treats, and a true taste of Italy.


The name Dulcis comes from Latin, meaning “sweet”, but also “delightful” in taste, fragrance, and spirit. That’s exactly what we’ve tried to bring to our corner of Cambridge: something sweet, authentic, and deeply connected to our Italian roots.

A Family Business with Italian Roots

DULCIS is an independent, family-run business founded by Maurizio and Alessandro, who wanted to share the flavours and traditions they grew up with. Every gelato is churned on-site. Handcrafted pasticcini made with recipes perfected over decades. And every espresso is poured with the same care you’d find in a classic Italian bar.

From a Small Start to a Community Staple

Everything began with a handful of gelato flavours and a small selection of pasticcini. Over time, your support turned DULCIS into more than a take-away treat shop. It became a place for birthdays, anniversaries, coffee breaks, and everyday moments shared with friends and family.

Over four years, we’ve become more than a little shop. We’ve become a destination for:


  • Artisan pasticcini: bite-sized Italian pastries made to be shared and savoured.
  • Hand-churned gelato, made in small batches with attention to texture and flavour.
  • Celebration cakes for weddings, birthdays, and anniversaries,


A warm, welcoming space in the Rose Quarter where people meet, celebrate, and take a moment for themselves.
